After feedback from the community on our initial Elliot Lake community design, and informal consultation with Elliot Lake planning, building, emergency services departments, and city staff we have updated the plan to include a number of key features:
- parking at each tiny home,
- snow storage at the corners of the development,
- 82-homes in the community,
- 8-pocket neighbourhoods,
- expanded 10,000 sq ft community center including:
- solar/small wind generation rooftop,
- commercial kitchen,
- dining room,
- coffee shop,
- lounge,
- artisans shops,
- co-working space,
- fitness center/yoga,
- health clinic.
- gazebos, community gardens (both flower & vegetable), picnic areas, firepits, community parks, greenhouse, community storage units,
- bus shelter,
- off-leash dog park.
Most features will be limited to community members, however some features will be accessible to the greater Elliot Lake community.
This is awesome! How would we secure a spot?

Hi, I no longer live in Elliot Lake, but live in Port Elgin, ontario.
We could use this service here too.
We are looking to develop communities across Ontario, and then Canada as affordable housing is in need everywhere. Subscribe to our newsletter (it’s free and we don’t spam) to be informed of new locations. To speed the process, ask a councilor to reach out to us, or watch our Municipal video

Hello -How much cost a lot? Thanks
Thanks for reaching out Claudia. We aren’t selling lots, as this will be a co-operatively owned community. This means it is collectively owned and maintained by the people in the community. This will allow the homes to remain affordable for future generations.
My husband’s family is in Elliott Lake, we are definitely interested in this community.
Great Kathy! We hope that our developments will be places where people of all ages will be welcome and find a community of like minded neighbours.
Can’t wait until these communities are everywhere!
Keep watching (subscribe to our newsletter so you are notified) as we’re planning to post new community proposals we’ve created, every Monday.
I have been looking into the tiny home living. I am excited in seeing all that is available in styles, size and affordability. I am glad that rhe tiny home communities are being established in Ontario. I look forward to future opportunities and emails.
Thanks Pam! Our models are planned to create an interesting looking community, with an efficient use of the interior space, to create a comfortable home you can decorate to meet your individual tastes.
Retiring soon, single female, don’t have enough to buy outright.
Hi Frances, congratulations! We’re planning to offer affordable to purchase, rent-to-own, and affordable rentals. Hopefully one of our housing options will accommodate you.
I am impressed and interested in one
Thanks Kelly. We’ve been working with a number of cities, towns, and municipalities about building tiny home communities, and plan to share news every Monday morning!
More info please
Hi Joanna. We’re aren’t able to share any more info at this time. Once we have secured enough funding to begin the build, we’ll post it here. The best way to stay up to date is to subscribe to our newsletter. Its free and we don’t spam.
I am patiently waiting for one of these tiny home communities to start up in Kingston, Ontario. I’d like to purchase a unit for myself and my son (I’m 44 years old, a single parent, make $60,000 gross so I definately cannot afford to buy anything in Kingston at the present time – I’ve given up on that dream, it’s not happening). These tiny home communities are my only hope to ever being able to say “I own this” and that makes me incredibly hopeful. I’m so excited about this and eagerly await an update about a community start up in this region. I look forward to the potential of being a part of an awesome community of like-minded Kingstonians who take part in the development of this incredible project. So cool!!!
Hi Christine, us too!
I have been talking to the city for a number of years, and next week I’ll share the details. We have secured funding sources, and with some community support, we’re hopeful we can start one of our tiny home communities in Kingston in 2024. Fingers crossed and stay tuned for news.
