Ideas of subdivisions
This is exciting. I wish I saw this earlier than today! Anyways, I see that investment is an option. Are investors going to be able to swoop in and buy these up to rent? I hope not as I’d hate to see these communities being looked at as income. It’s one of the reasons why our affordability has been eroded in Canada. If investors can purchase them, can there be a limit and an agreement that they cannot rent for high prices or renoevict? It does worry me a bit.
Thanks for the comments Christine.
Our investor opportunity is limited to our initial community model homes. They are a short-term investment and will conclude once the community development is completed.
All homes with in communities will be owner-occupied, with rentals will being owned and managed by the co-operative board.
Our model is to create forever affordable housing communities.
I’m interested in living in a community and support as well!
Thanks Sonia.

Interested in learning where the tiny home communities are located in Ontario & all of Canada.
Which other countries are moving in a tiny home direction?
Thanks for your comments Rose.
Many counties are embracing tiny homes, but we are not involved outside of Canada, so we can’t recommend who to connect with.
Initially we are focusing in Ontario, simply because we are located here.
We have received interest from individuals and provincial governments about our housing model, and we envision a national network of not-for-profit co-operatively owned tiny home communities, that will expand housing options for all Canadians.
