Very concise and well done. I have actually sent a copy of the link to our Municipal council members in Port Hope and asked them to review and consider for our community. It is a stretch, as they have not been progressive in the past, but never hurts to give a nudge.
Thank you, Sylvia for sharing.
Port Hope is a potential rural tiny home community location and with a population about 17,300 we expect the affordable housing need by 2032 to reach 1,537 units, almost 850 that could be addressed with tiny homes. Unfortunately, until people see “tiny” homes in beautiful communities, helping minimum wage earning singles, couples, and people on fixed income have a home, there’s not much that can be done.
This is impressive work you put together and we all really must advocate and push the government and industry to consider innovative housing solutions such as tiny homes.
Thank you for also considering including a portion of “small” homes that incorporate accessibility into the design. A large number of people in Ontario with disabilities would benefit from having this form of affordable housing option. Keep up the great work!
